As said by Albert Einstein “Good things come to those who wait. Better things come to those who don’t give up and the best thing come to those who just believe.” This idea relates to the fictional story “Chanda’s Secrets” by Allan Stratton. If people in our societies believe that their path in life will improve, despite seeing hardships in the future, is essential for human existence, they will succeed in life. If people will not believe, they won’t move ahead in life because life is filled up with hardships. Selalame, Chandas’s best teacher and Nurse Viser, Chanda’s doctor, when Chanda feels emotional she goes to Nurse Viser to share her feelings. They both are very sympathetic, caring for others. They both share one of the greatest quality and that is believing in others. After seeing Chanda’s exceptional performance in school, Mr.Selalame firmly believes that Chanda will become a huge scholar. As stated by Chanda “Mr. Selalame says if I keep on my studies I could win an oversea scholarship and see the world. The way his eyes lighten up, I think he really believes it. (pg.13:ch.3) (Allan Stratton)” Mr. Selalame firmly believes in Chanda that she will truly get an oversea scholarship looking how hard she is working. Despite seeing the hardships in the future that Chanda has to work very hard and that her family are not financially well-off, he still strongly believes in her. After the HIV test for Chanda and her family, including Esther, which was done by Nurse Viser. When the result came, everyone had a negative result except Esther. Nurse Viser strongly believed that Esther will get better due to the new medicines coming every month. ““The bad news is, the list is long and it’ll take a while for your name to get up the top,” said Nurse Viser “The good news is, your health is excellent and you may be able to get treated before you’re sick.”” Nurse Viser believes that Esther will get better and she will not get sick due to the new medicine and her good health. She still believes in Esther even though she has to wait to get to the top of the list and maybe in that period Esther’s health could get worse, and something bad could happen. Therefore, due to Mr. Selalame and Nurse Viser’s encouragement, and believing in others, they are helping them to succeed in life and this is one of the greatest quality a person can
