Chapter 2 - Things That Can Affect Your Happiness
There are plenty of things that can affect your happiness and I will cover some of them here. These outside influences need to be nipped in the bud as soon as possible in order for you to remain positive. One of these things is watching the daily news. The daily news can be very depressing when you constantly hear about killing, drug dealing, wars, robberies, rape, etc. These subjects will make you want to get up and actually go out and do something about it. Trying to fix these problems is great for invoking positive energy that will contribute to your satisfaction in happiness. Just the idea of reading and seeing those negative words can bring out bad feelings -or exciting feelings if you're that kind of person. Unfortunately, in the United States our society is plagued by violence and people gravitate towards that. It seems that negative things outweigh the positive ones. Constantly feeling this can cause frustration. Frustration is knowing that you can't do something about what's going on. If that sounds confusing, think back to when you was in high school taking an exam. Imagine the large amounts of frustration you used to feel trying to come up with an answer that you don't know. It could be on the tip of your tongue, but you just can't regurgitate the idea. This can cause huge amounts of frustration and stress. These frustrating and stressful feelings will equate to unhappiness. The way to feel happy despite, these negative feelings, is to just deal with them positively and practically. If you don't know the answer to a question on a high school exam then simply use the process of elimination or mark answer C. You have a 50% chance of answering correctly. Searching for alternatives can make all the difference in the
