This week reflection is from chapter 8 Waters and chapter 26 Center and Grounded. As I continue my self-reflection this fall, these two chapters compliments one another when defining leadership characteristics. In chapter 8 Waters, the leader is described as someone that leads without complaint. During this time, like water, the leader moves freely and serve with a purpose to create light and harmony. This is similar to servant leadership. The goal for the leader is to serve in a yielding, yet fluid nonjudgmental manner that benefits everyone. In chapter 26, the leader is stable in regards to their role towards staff. They aren’t easily distracted or caught up in things within the organization. If the leader is working towards a project that
