After watching this weeks video and reading chapter nine, the implications this chapter will have on me when I interact with infants and toddlers is now I can help and understand the language development and learning of children between the ages of birth to 36 months of age. Also, by knowing this information about language development will help understand at infants and toddlers are going through at certain stages. I can see now what children can say at what ages of life. In chapter nine, the information that surprised me the most was the language development that happens at each stage of life. Also the strategies to encourage language learning, I found these strategies very interesting and I enjoyed reading them.
I was unaware of these strategies so when I become a teacher I can use these strategies on the children to help their language development. Since I’m very inexperience when comes to these strategies, so I found the strategies about using self-talk and parallel talk and baby talk very interesting when I was reading this chapter. In chapter 10, it helped me understanding the importance of safety and why it is important to protect infants and toddlers from harmful things inside and outside of the classroom. Also, keeping infants and toddlers secure and safe. I really enjoyed reading this chapter, because it educated me so much on how important is to have a safety and healthy classroom. In chapter 11, the information that surprised me that most was reading about the licensing process, childcare development fund and the infant-toddler environment rating scale.
