In South of Broad by Pat Conroy the theme is appreciate people for who they are. Leo has a very diverse group of best friends that are not accepted by the community at this period of time. Trevor is gay, Sheba likes to sleep around, Ike and Betty are African-Americans in a town that still has not accepted blacks, and Niles and Starla are orphans from the mountains. This group is not exactly a perfect group for most families back in the 60's. In chapter 15 Sheba needs help looking for her brother in San Fransisco who is dying of AIDS.

Paul Fisher has hidden in dark covered by Erik shadow. And the whole time everyone thinks of Erik as the perfect child, when in reality he is very far from it. Erik Fisher (Paul’s Brother) has tormented Paul since he was 5 years old and has been Paul’s worst nightmare. But although Erik is a complete waste of human flesh, He does teach Paul one imperative lesson. In Edward Bloor’s Tangerine, Erik Fisher has mostly been an enemy to Paul but he does give Paul a statement to live by.

If long john silver would have been the main character in the book I think that the book would have been more towards how he would have deceived the crew and get the treasure. The characters are a like because they are both after something that they want greatly.

He also has moments of self-awareness, where he acknowledges that he has made mistakes in the past and wants to make amends.
At first he was really nice, but he was the type of guy that was really shy and kind of depended on friends he already had to spread his reputation. One of the famous adventure books, Treasure Island, is about the adventure story that is based on the boy who has the idea of Victorian Boyhood. Victorian boyhood is the idea that appears from the boys who do not want to grow up. The author of Treasure Island, Robert Louis Stevenson, wants to show that people have a natural process to grow up physically, but they have to mentally develop as well to fully become mature as a responsible adult.
