I recognize the National Junior Honor Society as a prestige group that contains members who excel at demonstrating Scholarship, Service, Citizenship, Character, and Leadership. They prove to have many advantages, a highly beneficial one being the experience in such an honorable organization. It would be a great honor to be inducted into NJHS, as it would not only benefit myself but the club. I have been told frequently that I surpass average at demonstrating scholarship.
The National Honor Society is built upon four founding principles: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. I have a high school life filled with dedication to these four principles on the Spiritual standpoint, the Familial level, the Community level and finally at the National level. Moreover, I did begin my dedication to these same four principles even before this starting with the Boy Scouts of America and this commitment will continue along with having a rich future when I reach my fullest potential. I firmly believe that to have academic excellence is giving your best effort to maintain not just having straight As and a high GPA at or close to the edge of attaining a 4.0, but to also have the skills that help you perform your very best in college and beyond. It is a great honor to be nominated as a member of the National Honor Society. There are many reasons why I want to take part in NHS. One reason why I want to be in it is to continue to grow academically with people who have the same goals as me. I want to be encouraged, not discouraged by the people around me. If I get into NHS, it will give me a lot of opportunities to be a leader.
National Junior Honor Society is the start of everything. This group helps set me up for my years to come. Being in the NJHS it helps me get into the one in high school, which looks really good one college applications. Having national junior honor society for both middle school and high school would give me a better chance to get into a college I really want to get into. I’ve always wanted to be someone who could help or make a change in this world, instead of just trying to get through life easy.
Prompt 1: Personal Statement I am sincerely honored and excited to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society (NHS). I believe NHS’s ideals are qualities needed to succeed in both high school and in life. I have learned in order to maximize my personal growth, it is important to dedicate myself to, not only grades, but to leadership, service, and community. Other qualities I utilize daily are respect and humility towards others and towards myself. Prioritizing is paramount to be well-rounded as I balance high honors, varsity team sports, work and community service.
There are several different qualities that make up who I am as a person, but there are four that stand out when it comes to being a National Honor Society member. These include character, leadership, scholarship and service. To begin with, I feel that character is an important quality to possess. In school, I have never been written up for violating code or have served a school detention/suspension and I hope not to in the future.
There are many qualities that good leaders must possess in order to be able to maintain a group united and working together, whether it is a sports or any academic team or club. For example; football/volleyball, U.I.L/ National Honor Society, or even Spanish/Interact club. Leaders must be willing to pass on a positive influence and know when to take charge. They must begin to be role models to those they associate with on a daily basis.
Being a leader comes natural to me. I have been volunteering since the young age of three alongside my parents in our home church and with our family. If we aren’t serving in some capacity at church or helping family we are helping in our community. One leadership role is very special to me though and that is being a Squad Leader in the Round Rock High School Band.
The first reason why I should be in National Junior Honor Society is because of my leadership skills. The first example of my leadership skills are applied to my youth group in the Cecilton Parish. I am the treasurer and help with the Ideas for fundraising. We, as a group held a spaghetti dinner for the church and I managed the money and the setting. Pursuing this further, I actively show leadership in school.
To be in National Junior Honor Society you have to have good character, citizenship,service, and leadership. First, I have good character. I take criticism willingly, and I also welcome recommendations. Second, I demonstrate citizenship well. Civic involvement is very important, and I have high regard to freedom, justice, and respect for the American form of government.
I believe I display all of the qualities mentioned in the four pillars of National Honor Society. I am a person of good character who displays the six pillars of character in everything I do. I provide leadership and service in many ways and value education as a lifelong learner. Leadership is something I take part in daily. Since I am senior at my school, younger students tend to look up to me as a role model. I play three sports in which I show leadership in and teach others leadership as well. The sport I represent leadership best in, is basketball. I lead the team huddles, say positive things to keep my teammates under control, and I show a player a drill or play if they don't understand it.
It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.
Leadership has played an important part in my life for the longest time. When I was younger I would always make sure that people were doing the right thing, and if they weren't, I wasn’t afraid to tell them and help them out. One of my first leadership opportunities was in third grade. I had just moved to a new school and didn’t know anyone, but I still decided to run for school vice-president. I used my ability to lead and ended up winning by a landslide.
My leadership role as a worship leader in Sunday mornings and youth places a big responsibility on me to lead others in Christ and lead well. By valuing and investing in the qualities and potential of individuals I meet with often, I empower and equip others. I provide them with direction and resources to help them succeed because when a person thrives, everyone thrives. I take part in mentoring relationships, offering advice to those who might benefit from my experiences while encouraging them to create their own paths. The strength of group effort is something I am mindful of.
