William Shakespeare is one of the most influential authors of all time. Born, raised and married in Stratford, England, Shakespeare went on to London to pursue a life in the theatre. After, being an actor, he took to writing plays and poetry. After his death, his works were published and are bound to live on forever. Shakespeare’s influence has skyrocketed in literature over the decades by influencing authors, creating clichés, and having the most compelling characters.
Shakespeare influenced many authors’ writing styles and structures. Charles Dickens and Nathaniel Hawthorn’s novel Twice-Told Tales were inspired by Shakespeare’s King John.
