The chief nursing officer at the facility is tasked with overseeing the general management of the nursing department. The chief nursing officer is tasked with ensuring that strategic plans and strategies in the hospital are implemented and that activities run smoothly and as required in the organization. In vaccine and cold chain accreditation, the officer should ensure that vaccine and drugs are managed efficiently by monitoring the refrigeration processes, servicing of the refrigerators and placing orders that can be accommodated by the facilities refrigerators. In clinical Storage, the officer is tasked with ensuring that nurses store drugs by the specifications of the manufacturer's. Practice in Physical Environment; the officer is in charge of ensuring that nurses operate in an environment that meets standards in term of cleanliness and safety. The chief nursing officer is aware of the repercussion that results from leaving out others while making critical decisions from a personal experience. The leadership should always engage the junior staff while making decisions. This serves to boost the morale of the staff in achieving the organization's goals. When they are consulted in making decisions, the junior staff feels appreciated and have a sense of belonging. They will, therefore, do anything possible to ensure that the objectives of the organizations are achieved.
Cost-Benefit Analysis
The benefits realized as a result of accreditation cannot be underestimated since they are numerous. The sole purpose of any organization is making a profit. The benefits realized from accreditation can help an organization increase its profit margin significantly. When an organization has received irreparable accreditation, the chances are high that the facility might have more patients which in turn will lead to more revenue for the health facility in question. Accreditation also helps the organization to receive funding and grants that might be a big boost to the organizations. Other than the business benefits of certification, they are other benefits such as enhanced communication and improved working conditions for nurses and medics amongst others.
