China is one of the most dominant countries today, but they are facing one of the most major problems of overpopulation since 1949. In 1949 after the civil war that lasted 20 years, Mao Zedong the chairman of China during that time. Mao Zedong and his communist revolutionaries won control of China. His idea was to the people that worked for him control the government. Mao Zedong wanted his people to have more kids and when they reached adulthood, there would be more workers, which lead to a higher class financial system. I believe the one-child policy was a good idea because it slowly decreased the population, but over population, it is still one of one of the most major problems even to this day.

The One-Child policy had some positive and negative changes to the economy. The One-Child policy causes an imbalance between the working class and the people are retired in China. The older generations are very well known to the overpopulation in China for a very long time. In China, there are more people that are retired than the people that are working to this day. Having one baby caused social problems to the children. The One-Child Policy made parents kill the female babies to keep the male ones so that the family name would live on. This One-Child policy obviously meant that there was a lot of kids that were an only child and that would put pressure on the child. The good thing and the bad thing about being an only child is that you get the attention. The good thing about getting all the attention is that your parents would pay attention to you often, you get more gifts on a holiday and you don’t have to worry about annoying brother or sisters going into your room. The bad thing about being an only child that you would take in so much pressure at a young age and would later affect your schooling and life and that lead to depression at a very young
