Kyle Stringham Mrs. Johnson English – 7th period 21 April 2016 Texan Hero Hero’s come and go without notice on a daily basis. A man that few of us knew but none will ever forget is Chris Kyle. Without ever knowing him before his passing, Chris Kyle’s heroic actions left me and so many others with a great respect for our own country and those who serve in our military. Despite the dark aura that lures around his death, there is much light that is able to be found in such a tragedy. Chris brought our country together through simply being an American. A fact so simple that carries a pride many of us didn’t realize we possessed. During Chris’s four tours in Iraq, he was able to total up 160 confirmed kills making him the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history. (UWIRE Text 16). The shots that Kyle took weren’t always the picture perfect ones you’ll see in movies. He took shots that reflected his bold ‘Big-Brother’ character that many others wouldn’t dare attempt due to difficulty. While on his last deployment in Iraq, Chris scanned amongst a suburban town he was assigned to over watch. He glanced upon a man who posed no threat at the time given he carried no weapon. Later on in that day when Chris’s fellow troops passed through the town in a convoy where he once again noticed this Iraqi. However, the innocent man at first, now posed a threat as he carried a RPG or a rocket propelled grenade launcher. Chris took to his rifle and executed what turned out to be the 8th longest confirmed kill in history (Chris Kyle The Lost Of An American Hero ). Chris took pride in a job that he did to the best of his ability and with the American pride many of us lack. Simply because of his brutal lethality in the war, the Iraqi’s posed a $20,000 reward if he was killed . His passing inspired his his wife, Taya Kyle, to begin a foundation that rebuilds family relationships. She names this the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation which takes pride in “returning power back to the family unit.”( Chris Kyle Frog Foundation). What goes highly unnoticed about the military is how difficult it is to keep a family together while the father or mother of your children is out overseas. Taya said regarding the foundation’s mission, “Trees without roots fall over – and sometimes those roots need re-generation – that is what we’re here for.”-Taya Kyle. While Chris was deployed out in Iraq, he missed the start of his family and taking care of his newborn children. An experience that is felt repeatedly by these military families that go through enough. Chris Kyle’s loss is something that brought so many of us together during his funeral session held in Cowboys stadium. 7,000 people that all may not have personally known Chris filed in to the stadium to show their respects to the Texan hero ( Chris Kyle Frog
