Women entrepreneurs are on the rise in just about every industry. The latest statistics from the Center for Women’s Business Research state that women own 10.6 million businesses in the United States, employ 19.1 million workers, and generate $2.5 trillion in sales (Entrepreneur, 2004). An area with even more growth is Orange County, California, ranking number six in the nation in the number of women-owned businesses (Norman, 2013).
One woman in particular took advantage of her femininity as she “stepped into” her role as an entrepreneur. Christina Prandini Sanchez is the owner and founder of Body & Sole Comfort. She was disgusted upon finding out that plastic surgeons were injecting silicone into the balls and heels of women’s feet so they could wear higher heels. Being a woman, Prandini Sanchez understood the pain, but did not feel it was worth the two thousand dollar price tag (Dempsey, 2011).
