Introduction of healthcare Healthcare industry is one of the world’s largest industry. This industry comprises several participants such as hospital, healthcare equipment manufacturers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, health insurance firms and other human health organizations. It is a huge but fragmented industry since different participants have its own production and ways to generate profit. No single company has huge impact on the whole industry. The traditional business model for healthcare industry is called “fee-for-service” structure. As the information more and more used in our daily life, the participants of industry now reconsider the way they do business. Now more and more companies in this industry start using information technology to help them connecting with patients, providing more specific and customized services. Their revenue model transform from “fee-for-service” structure to value-based structure. All of this change rely on the the information of patients.
