High School System vs. Middle Ages Feudal System The high school system today correlates to the feudalistic system established in 1066 by William I, also known as William the Conqueror. The feudal system was created in the Middle Ages to bring order to land jurisdiction, military control, and labor. Though these various aspects of the system need to be separated, they also need to flow together to create a fully functional system. On the other hand, the public school system is vastly different, the same feudalistic model can still be evident in the public school system.
The word Renaissance means “rebirth”. The social classes were “rebirthed” into a growth that moved the social structure of the society into totally different directions than what had it had previously been accustomed to before the Renaissance. The four social classes were: the nobles, the merchants, the tradesmen, and the unskilled workers and during the renaissance they took on a growth that went in directions that caused society to expand and the social classes to be redefined. The nobles lived on large estates outside the city walls and served as military officers, royal advisers and politicians. The merchants sought to protect their wealth by controlling the government and marrying to noble families.

The Middle Ages consisted of Feudalism and was protected by the ownership/military that supports the members of society who did not have very much power. The Feudal society was linked to Serfs who was thought of, as the lowest end of the spectrum, was contributed to no more than slavery and was stranded to the land for life. The serfs who were agricultural laborers and under the feudal system, had to work on the estate to do physical work for the manor and would be confined to the land for the rest of their lives. They were not even permitted to marry without the permission of the lord. The fall of Rome began in the early middle Ages.
The progress and growth of the new bourgeoisie began in the earliest towns, and gained momentum with the Age of Exploration. Feudal guilds couldn't provide for the growing markets and populations, than was the birth of the manufacturing bourgeois. However, markets kept growing and demand kept increasing exponentially, and the manufacturing middle class could no longer keep up, this led to the Industrial Revolution. The manufacturing middle class was replaced by a new Modern Industry, and then the industrial middle class was replaced by the industrial millionaires, the modern bourgeois. With these developments, the bourgeoisie have grown become powerful, and have pushed medieval classes into the background.
The Medieval model for Christian social order is similar to the caste system of India. Everyone had their own status and role, they were free to excel in their own ‘class’ but discouraged to try and leave that class. For example if this person was lower class, they can be the best lower class person the church but for them to even think of becoming middle class or upper class was frowned down upon.
