There are many attributes that are needed for teachers to be effective. Some of these attributes include consistent, organized, conduct a well-managed classroom, and prevent problem behaviors. To be considered consistent, a teacher must set predictable practices and procedures. In order for students to become familiar with the teacher’s practices and procedure of the classroom, the structure and organization should be taught within the first week of school. The teacher would be considered effective once the students become responsible for the procedures that are consistent with their learning. The second attribute of an effective teacher is that he or she is organized. A few of the items that need to be organized include, students, space, time, and the educational materials. There are many characteristics that indicate a well-managed classroom. Two of these characteristics are having a task-oriented environment and a predictable. In a task-oriented environment, students know what is expected of them and they know how to accomplish their goals. In a predictable environment, students know what is supposed to happen throughout the day. When teachers have a task-oriented and predictable environment, problem behaviors and wasted instructional time decrease due to everyone’s understanding of the rules and expectations. Finally, effective teachers are able to prevent problem behaviors by implementing a plan at the beginning of the school year. The plan should include component such as using time effectively, implementing group strategies with high levels of participation, academic tasks focused on student involvement, and communication of appropriate participation. In order for this behavior plan to succeed, the teacher must have all student work ready, the classroom ready, and his or herself ready everyday. All in all, the teacher must be prepared in all
