People underestimate the importance of teachers and what they mean to us. In preparation for the first day of school, the teacher has a list he follows which consists of a complete first-day script checklist and a classroom management plan. Preparations for a new school year takes place long before the first day. Planning for this big day is essential and lack of planning will cause wasteful use of time, frustration and fatigue for the teacher, indecisiveness, and chaos and confusion in the minds of the students. The first day of school is the most important day of the school year and it is not a day to wing it. The teacher first creates a classroom management plan to ensure that his class runs smoothly. A classroom management plan creates a safe, positive, and consistent environment where teaching and learning can take place. The plan will help bring a culture of success, consistency, and academic excellence. The discipline plan prevents behavioral problems from occurring in the classroom. This plan includes rules for the students to follow, rewards they can work towards, and penalties for breaking the rules. Classroom rules keep student behavior in check. It is important the teacher gives a copy of the rules to each student as well as putting them up where everyone can see them depending on the grade level. Positivity is an essential element in the classroom so the teacher sets positive expectations for all of his students. The teacher who establishes positive expectations for all his students have high rates of academic success in the classroom. The teacher needs to offer quality instruction, provide extra help, create a positive learning environment, show respect, enforce fairness, and must give his best effort each
