Controversy and arguments follow the topic of Climate Change with all the miss-information and possible exaggeration or understatements. With the many factors that make up this topic; it is very hard to see a correct view of the situation. All in all climate change is whatever severity you want it to be depending on how you see it. This essay hopes to convey an evenly viewed perspective of climate. One side of the climate change debate says that the warming of the earth is nothing to be overly concerned about.
Big business owners continue to build factory after factory, each churning out products and using our fossil fuels to fuel their wallets, all while not realizing the impact these machines are having on our common home. The toxic gasses being released into the atmosphere, are one main reason why climate change exists. Living in a world that prospers off of big business run by captains of industry, and thrives due to technological advances, I realize that our country's economic state would have the most drastic effect with dire consequences because of climate change. The effect of climate change on planet earth brings great change and shifts many economic aspects.
97 percent of climate change scientists agree that global warming is very likely caused by human activities. Essentially, global warming happens as a result of an increase in the greenhouse effect, whereas certain molecules in the environment trap heat, the most part being CO2 and N2O. Carbon dioxide and nitrous oxide both are naturally present in our atmosphere, however actions such as burning fossil fuels and mass farming among other human activities are drastically changing the composition in the atmosphere, causing the temperature to rise. A study published in the scientific journal Science Advances found that mammals are becoming extinct at twenty to thirty times the rate of the past.
Although climate change has been a issue for many years, the topic did not start to get popular until the 1980’s. The science of the climate soon caught the general public eye as a political concern. Numerous climate researchers in the 80’s figured that global warming was going to harm the planet very soon. Without the proper research and budgeting, the scientists were disappointed until Ronald Reagan’s presidency came into place. Under his administration, the United States turned into the prime mover behind the Montreal Protocol, which required the eliminating of ozone-exhausting synthetic compounds.
Global warming has been a highly debated topic over the years with some believing in it and others not. Global warming is the gradual heating of Earth's surface, atmosphere and oceans. This occurs due to the Greenhouse Effect, which is when certain gases that derive from things like fossil fuels are in the atmosphere and block heat from escaping. These gases in the atmosphere do not respond to physical or chemical changes in temperature. This ends up forcing climate change all around the globe.
Some scientists have deemed this climate change as anthropogenic, and this claim can also be backed up. Within the past few years a rapid increase in temperature can be seen within the lower troposphere. This is the region that we reside in. Within the past few decades humans have taken some big steps towards more advanced technology.
When we see a movie, we see characters solving fictitious problems. That is the way that some people see climate change. They believe that it is a fictitious problem. That is far from the truth. Climate Change is now and is affecting every country on every continent.
According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which is a group of 1,300 independent scientific experts from around the world, “there's a more than 90 percent probability that human activities over the past 250 years have warmed our planet” (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change 5). This is saying that humans are almost definitely the major cause of climate change. Fossil fuels are burned all the time, every day, all year, and this is causing the ozone layer to deplete at an alarming rate. NASA says that the current global warming problem is the human expansion of the “greenhouse effect” which is warming that happens when the atmosphere traps in heat radiating from Earth toward space. What this is saying is that humans are causing the greenhouse effect which is warming the Earth more and more.
CLIMATE CHANGE !! Valerie Legere Climate change needs to be stopped! Climate change occurs when weather patterns are altered; for example, through human activity, when we smoke, or drive.
While it’s uncertain exactly how global warming might affect the future climate and stability of the earth, there’s major evidence showing that it can have potentially detrimental effects as explained above. Based on the massive evidence behind global warming most people would agree that it’s best to take precautionary measures. Although a vast majority of the global community agrees that there have to be precautionary measures, there still people who think taking precautionary measures won’t reverse the current trend of global warming. Some scientists believe that global warming will simply lead to “warmer winters and increased plant growth”, while other scientists anticipate more frequent hurricanes, changing rain and drought patterns, and low-lying nations going under water (Science Clarified). The future effects of global warming are debatable, but let’s take a look at a future with and without precautionary measures.
I am writing to express my concern about the imminent threat climate change poses to our country, to our people and the future of our children. I am sure that you know it is changing. I am writing to you to encourage more to stop as quickly as possible before its get too late. Environmental change is not only cause by human; it may also caused by non-live factors such as temperature or rainfall.
Our planet is getting warmer and warmer day by day. According to Statista.com, in 2016 the surface temperature was 0.94 degree Celsius (33.629 degrees Fahrenheit) warmer than the 20th century average. If temperatures keeps going up, then our world could be so hot that it cannot sustain life. Our atmosphere naturally traps heat to make Earth’s climate warm enough to sustain life, the sunlight shines onto the Earth’s surface where it is absorbed and then it is reflected off into the atmosphere. In the atmosphere the greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, and methane, trap some of the heat and sends rest into space.
It seems to be that global warming has become a subject well known in our society. There is a multitude of organizations and ideas that are being created and executed on how to resolve such issue. It seems to be that in the past 5 years, global warming has become a well-known topic of conversation in which there is a lot to debate. We seem to have become aware that the climate is changing and society is finally starting to see what is going on around them as well as taking responsibility for the issue. I believe that the most important thing to acknowledge regarding this topic would be to fully understand what this entitles.
Global warning is not an issue that should be put aside; the Earth needs help, and the only option it has is the people who live on it. Society needs to put aside their incredible need to be overindulgent and start taking action to help the planet. If action does not take place to move the world to a greener more efficient one soon, then it will be too late. The planet has already begun to warm and is only going to continue; this is apparent when glaciers and sea ice are depleting as fast as they are. However, there is time to slow the warming.
Global warming is a problem that must be addressed globally. It effects all of the world, and is happening very rapidly. Global warming has been talked about quite often in the last few years. It was wildly popular when Pope Francis made his trips going to talk about Global warming and shining a light on the subject. Global warming is a very real and serious problem, and if people do not step up and do what they can now the world could come to an end sooner rather than later.
