Coach Inc. is a company known for its luxury handbags. Although Coach Inc. is known for many other luxury items, it started out as providing handbags for the ladies. Coach was founded by Mile Cahn, a New York City leather artisan (Gamble & Thomas, 2014). The handbags created by Cahn and his family were simple and bendable to wear and tear (Gamble & Thomas, 2014). While Cahn and his family crafted handbags that were very luxurious, consumers wanted to know more about the quality and the uniqueness of the handbags. Core Values Core values should be the center of every business. Without values, a company cannot tell it story and will not stand for something. Companies with a strong culture usually have very effective core values. Core values bring unity within the business as well as strengthen the team as a whole. Businesses that do not implement core values have trouble keeping the business firm. Core values do not impact the business owner, it impacts the business as a whole and it is understood by everyone. Their goal to success was effective. Coach’s attractive pricing enabled it to appeal to consumers who would not normally consider luxury brands, while the quality and styling of its products were sufficient to satisfy traditional luxury consumers (Gamble & Thomas, 2014). The Women’s Wear Daily survey stated that Coach’s quality, styling, and value mix was so powerful that Coach ahead of much more expensive brands such as Ralph Lauren, Prada, and Fendi (Gamble & Thomas, 2014). Intended Verses Realized Strategies Coach intended strategy is to conduct business internationally and make products that people all over the world can afford at a valuable price. When Coach realized what it customers wanted and needed, they provided a survey to make it happen.
