By stressing the importance of teamwork and communication during orientation and studying at the Prep Schools, my classmates and I have forged a strong bond that will last through the Academy and our future as officers in the Coast Guard. By learning the importance of teamwork and communication, my fellow classmates and I are more comfortable in confiding in others to help improve our performance. By establishing close relationships between our teachers and classmates, we were able to receive help and correct problems when they arose instead of letting them pan out to be major issues that affect our overall performance. Because of these skills learned during the Scholars Program, my classmates and I will be able to assist our fellow classmates next year when they need help and forge bonds with our fellow cadets and teachers that will help us succeed in our four years at the Academy and our times as Coast Guard Officers.
