Chris Hadfield once said that “Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts... It is about laying the groundwork for others' success, and then standing back and letting them shine.” Hadfield is stating in this quote that in order our leaders to be successful, they muse ensure our prosperity before their own. With this quote clearly effective leaders collaborate with their people to ensure they are successful and mindful. Collaborative leadership is the strongest way to lead because fear and power can sometimes create anarchy and dissent while respect and decency ultimately create a harmonious society.
First and foremost, leaders come in all shapes and forms, there is not one set physical mold for them, but what they all do share are certain characteristics and desires. Leadership in and of itself, is the ability to guide others, take responsibility, and share a vision that inspires and leaves others with a sense of empowerment. Evidently, it takes an exceptional leader to exhibit exceptional leadership skills. Additionally, the most prominent act that all adequate leaders demonstrate is that they are steadily engaged in enhancing their leadership skills. There have been various magnificent leaders throughout history, such as Martin Luther King Jr., Sojourner Truth, Nelson Mandela, and Eleanor Roosevelt.
The leadership of Tesco motivates employees because of which the organisation consistently provides effective services to consumers. It is noted that the management of the organisation emphasises on the significance of the appointing roles of leadership to people within the organisation in such a way that they are aware of their responsibilities to implement the strategic decisions through the effective communication in the form of meetings and follow up on employees for ensuring that they are not drifting away from the providence of quality services and efficient company operations (Data monitor, 2010; Pergamon Flexible Learning, 2005). The leadership style is being implemented by the management and it is imitated by the leaders of team within each department. However, every leader of department is appointed by management and it has changed the organisational structure of Tesco. For instance, the duty managers in every store lead employees in decision making process on daily basis that supports the operations of store.

HISTORY & BACKGROUND OF COCA COLA The Coca Cola company is known as one of the world’s largest carbonated soft drinks company that began before World War II. It is an American-based company found in 1886 by an Atlanta pharmacist. Dr. John S. Pemberton created the formula of French Wine Coca, which is known as Coca Cola now and introduced the carbonated soft drink as a patent medicine at first. The beverage became more noticeable when Frank M. Robison, Dr. Pemberton’s partner changed the product name and created the famous script logo, which he believed that will attract customer in advertising.
1) Introduction Management and leadership practices are helpful and useful to individual's prosperity and that of our organization. Leadership and management theories concentrate on what qualities recognize and distinguish between leaders and followers in an organisation. Leadership can be characterized as a procedure by which an individual impacts others to accomplish a target and coordinates the organization in a way that makes it more coherent and cohesive. On the off chance that you have the longing and willpower, you can turn into an effective leader. Great leaders are creating and developing through a ceaseless procedure of self-study, experience, training and education.
3.1 Explain how products are developed to sustain competitive advantage There are three levels of coca cola’s products. They are core product, actual product and augmented product. Core product Coca cola’s products are high quality standards for the customer.
This model states that in this 21st century, it is impossible to rely on one management style to fit all situations (Educational-business-articles.com, 2016). In other words managers and leaders must be flexible, in order to get the best result out of their teams and individuals. In addition, this theory allows management and leadership to be able to identify and accurately diagnose the situation and vary employees’ behavior accordingly to the situation (Yukl and Mahsud, 2010). This will enable management and leadership at CIBCFCIB to select appropriate types of leadership behavior for each type of situation. Moreover, another impact that this theory has on organizational strategy whereby Charismatic leaders at CIBCFCIB can minimize various types of behaviour by increasing competent employees.
This paper is going to encompass different leadership theories and their relevance to my own personal personality and method of leadership. There will be information on the advantages and disadvantages of the leadership theories and information on each including examples. The purpose of this paper is to view various kinds of leadership theories and apply them to a real-life scenario. Leadership Theories There are quite a few different leadership theories available for people to take information from and use in business settings and even personal settings.
1.2. Product Differentiation This refers to differentiation that aspires to make a product more attractive by contrasting its unique qualities with other competing products (Investopedia, 2015:1), as in the case of Coca-Cola, other soft drink brands. Successfully adopting this strategy would have a company gaining a competitive advantage, as the customer would then view the product as unique or superior. This is what coca cola has managed to do, and has managed to do it on a scale that is globally unique, and globally recognized.
Different scholars identified various kinds of leadership styles that affect the job performance, satisfaction and learning and development of subordinates. Warrick, D.D (1981) cited that there are no doubt variables other than a leader’s style that affect employee performance and development but leadership style plays a significant role and not to be underestimated. An awareness of leadership styles and their consequences are very important because it may either facilitate or inhabit skill development. The major theories on leadership are the traits, leadership styles and contingency theories.
However, nowadays groups, companies and organizations need both powerful leaders and managers to produce desired results. Moreover, Abraham Zaleznik (1977) discussed the parallel between leaders and managers and mentioned that they both make a valuable contribution to an organization; although, each one’s contribution is different (Lunenburg, 2011). While some obvious similarities can be found between leadership and management, there are also some noteworthy differences, as previously stated. The purpose of this essay is to clarify the relationship between leadership and management based on existing literature.
