From the very beginning I always strived to be my very best. When I was younger I always wanted to be like the older students at my school by being amazing in athletics and academics. Most importantly I wanted to be like my older sisters. They were the golden students in grade school with every teacher wanting to have them in their class, and this all encouraged me to be like them. I wanted to be exactly the same, but really I aimed to be a perfect student. I sought to be like them in many ways through academics and athletics, but most importantly I wanted to share their acts of kindness towards others.
My sisters were always compassionate to whoever they met, but most importantly they showed affection to those who were younger or scared. I tried to mimic this quality this year during my cross country and lacrosse season by allowing the freshmen to feel open to talking to the upper classmen. On the first day of each sport I noticed that the freshmen looked uncomfortable with this new environment of a competitive high school sport. This made me remember how scared I was, and how my sister comforted me on my first day. I wanted to mirror her kind actions toward the freshmen, so I went up to them and asked a few ice breaker questions. I could see in their faces that they were slowly easing up to the idea of mixing in with other teammates. Over the course of the season I continued on my relationship with them by befriending them. Although I have learned that it does not matter how smart you are, but how much effort you put in by my sisters. They teach me to always reach for my goals, but how it is okay if you do not achieve them. I mirror how much effort they put in for every assignment no matter what the class. I aim to be the best I can be, and my dedication towards perfection helps complete that
