I have learned several things in band, but the one that sticks out the most is learning to be a humble leader. When thinking about how to persuade you that I was the most deserving of the scholarship, I was at a loss for words. I couldn’t figure out how to say why I was qualified without making myself sound egotistical and self absorbed with everything I have done. Though I have had several accomplishments that I have been a part of, I don’t want to discuss them in this paper. I don’t have to because you have seen and know what I have done in band. You have seen my progress through out the years. For that reason, it’s my use for this scholarship and what I plan to use this degree for that will persuade you why I deserve this money. Since I am going to use my career as persuasion, it is vital you understand what that is. I am going to school to get two degrees in order to prepare myself to be a musicianary (a worship leader on the mission grounds). The second will come from Missouri Southern State University. I will earn a Bachelors in Music and plan on minoring in Spanish and hopefully adding getting another language certificate. This will prepare me to go to several places and speak in their language to tell them about God. I plan to get these degrees to prepare myself to spread the gospel, just as I have prepared myself for band class.
