At the beginning of kindergarten I knew what I wanted to be when I was to grow up and that was simply a lawyer. I don't know if i truly knew what a lawyer was but that's who i wanted to be as an “grown up”. As everyone knows we change our minds a million times about what we want to be when we grow up, i personally have wanted to be everything you could think up; from a teacher to a FBI agent. What i never realized until I was a junior in high school is how important it is to put yourself in new settings, so that is what i did when i applied to page a week under a House member of representatives, and that's when i decided what i was meant to do and what i wanted to be when i grow up. One of the scariest things about this is your walking into a building where being a high school student is no longer acceptable. The capital is a whole new game it's where you become an adult and it's where you become aware that your presence matters. I walked into the room where i were to meet 20 new people, students, just like me taking a step into real life work. This day was really the biggest eye opener because i was becoming this young adult i always hoped i'd be. This first day made the three days more i'd be there even more excited than before i started. I love helping anyone that i can. I think representing a group of constituents is an amazing place for me, but that isn't personal enough. I need that balance of personally involved and generally involved. That's where being a lawyer comes in, that's the personal level i want, and it still keeps me involved in the government. Being in law also gives the people i want to represent in the future a sense of security that i am educated to know the constitution and know their rights. I also want to be able to educate myself through them, through helping them and learning how they can help me to help
