I have always been eager to understand the world and to look for universal truths. This is why I wish to study philosophy. Additionally, I would like to improve my English by experiencing the environment and talking to new people. Furthermore, I also wish to learn about the English culture as it has always been intriguing for me. For this reason, I am applying for admission for BA in Philosophy and English in the UK.
Currently, I’m studying philosophy, French literature and English literature along with history and other languages such as Spanish and Chinese. I started off with philosophy during my senior year of high school. I believe that it is not enough to build my body but it is also important to build my mind. I have visited multiple communities that had been built around meditation but had various belief systems, this has made me wonder if there is any type of universal truth. I feel like the only way my desire to deepen my understanding of how the world and humans work, is what keeps me incredibly interested in philosophy, which is why, studying the subject which allows me to talk and learn about my interest, would be the best way to do so. Philosophy offers a holistic approach to many other different subjects. For instance, philosophers like Marx whom have contributed to the change of the ideology of a whole nation and has marked history, other philosophers like Freud who discovered psychoanalysis. Eventually, I started to read work from other people like Pascal and Aristotle, and I could not stop opening new books and discovering new concepts and theories. I believe that philosophy will help me achieve my goal of being an English teacher. Whilst studying in the UK, I hope to meet people that share the same interests as me, with whom I can grow …show more content…

I would like to educate myself in the same country as these philosophers. furthermore, I have visited the UK a few times before and I feel the proximity towards the culture, I appreciate the respect that the population have for their Queen and their country. English is the native mother tongue of only Britain which is why I aspire to become an English teacher back in France, I want to share my knowledge of the English language and its culture to the country I choose to live and work in, I wish to spread UK’s culture alongside with their mindset and ideas for when I’m teaching. I believe there is no better place to learn the British language and the culture than in Britain
