College Admissions Essay: The NASA SEES High School Internship

If you asked someone “Do you like space?”, they would probably say they did. In fact, it’s pretty normal for most people to like space. Most like space to live in, personal space, or possibly the other-galaxies-beyond-our-own type of space. I happen to like all three. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the most interested in the latter. Being able to travel beyond our own planet, and using that resource to in turn help the planet and what’s on it is one of the most important things we have achieved so far. This interest has prompted me to work hard in and out of school, and to become involved in many activities that will help me become an aerospace engineer. The NASA SEES High School Internship would be a very useful and exciting opportunity to help me on my way to achieve that goal. I would be a good candidate for the program because I am determined, eager to learn, and would put what I gain from the program to good use.

My class has 356 students, and academically I rank in the 91st percentile and 29th in my class. I currently have a GPA of 3.935. I was put into the math “fast track” which allowed me to skip over pre-Algebra and go into Algebra 1 my Eighth grade year. I am now taking Accelerated Algebra 2, Accelerated Trigonometry, and Biology along with other required classes. My Junior year I will be taking AP Psychology, Intro Calculus, Pre AP Chemistry, and required classes. Senior year I hope to have the opportunity to take classes that target what I would like to do in college, such as AP Physics. I hope to graduate with high honors in
