I am an exceptional National Honor Society candidate because of my record of achievements in the classroom and the community. My accomplishments as a student, a Keystone club officer, a Girl Scout, a Junior Leadership Seminar delegate, and Ramstein cheerleader satisfy the qualifications of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. It is upon these four pillars that NHS is based. As a National Honor Society member, I will use my strengths to help Ramstein NHS Chapter continue its distinguished record of accomplishment in community service. I excel in scholarship. I demonstrate my outstanding achievements in service through the clubs and teams I participate in. I’ve organized many teen outreach events targeted towards middle and high schoolers such as lock-ins and dances, but I have also organized community service events targeted for the whole base, for example barbeques. A recent example of this would be the Ramstein Color Run taking place next month. Being a Girl Scout for 7 years taught me to appreciate and enjoy taking action in the community. From a young age, I became used to helping around my community. I organized multiple clothing, food, and book drives. While I was a Girl Scout, I earned my Bronze and Silver award: the second and third highest awards a Girl Scout can earn. Some other examples of events that I’ve planned to give back to my community are cheer clinics, movie nights, and 8th grade prom. I also have gift wrapped at the KMCC during the holiday season, tutored students at the Intermediate School, volunteered at the Ramstein Bazaar, picked up trash around the base, and bagged groceries at the commissary multiple times.
