I am not like other sixteen year olds. I find a better use of my time making the world a better place than partying or loafing around. While my peers engage in such activities I work towards broadening my awareness of the world around me. It’s the small things, namely learning about foreign cultures or giving back to my community that make me different. At sixteen years old, I am graduating from Inlet Grove Community High School and have been accepted to Florida Atlantic University. I had the opportunity to skip the eighth grade and move right into my freshman year of high school. Throughout my high school career, I have taken as many honors and Advanced Placement courses as possible. In each of these courses, I received high marks in class and on the tests. While attending Florida Atlantic University, I plan to pursue studies in architecture and design. While my ultimate goal is to achieve a Masters in Architecture, I am also a writer and will continue to perfect my craft. However, I do not want to limit my studies to these fields. As a member of Key Club I was a strong contributor to the volunteer opportunities that arose, (i.e. Beach Cleanup, Trick or Treat for UNICEF). In my third year of high school, I became the secretary of the School Improvement Committee. As the secretary, I was responsible for making sure all of the meetings ran smoothly and were recorded for future use. Along with these club activities, I have volunteered for many of the teachers and staff in the school. Such activities included filing, running papers to classrooms, and helping out during school activities.
