Education has been a part of me. Going to college was the dream I had since I can remember. First I couldn’t wait to finish my mid-school, then go to highschool. When I was in high school, I couldn’t wait to go to college. Many people talks about how cool college is, and so I couldn’t wait to finish high school and start college. At that time is was all about fun, not being stressed. But, beside all this, college is where I show my progress. All my 12 years of study will be awarded. I am definitely an ordinary person when it comes to my personality, but I don’t think I be ordinary when it comes to reaching goals. My mom played a big role helping me focus on my education. She didn’t went far in her education. But, she gave it all she had to make sure that I did. She taught me the value of education and inspired me by giving herself as an example. She had a dream to she wanted to reach like every kid, a life she wanted to live, and get a job like everyone else, but she wasn’t able to do that because she didn’t finish school. She tells me that, seeing a child going to school and finish it successfully is the most thoughtful thing a child can do to make his/her parents proud. So she encourage me in every step. My dad went a little farther than my mom, he got his diploma. He couldn’t go farther either because he fled from his home to support his family to here, USA. The only option they both had was to work as a housewife and man of the house to support their family. So, my parents sacrifice their career to fulfill mine, they sacrifice their dreams so that I can keep mine. Growing up, life wasn’t easy. I had certain incidents happened to me in my life that were difficult to overcome. When I was 13, I was taken by an unknown man, taken to another country and tortured for months. Once I escaped, I returned to live with my aunt until my father, who was in the United States at the time, sponsored me to come to here when I was 18 years old.
