Common Core is a widely debated topic here in America. However I feel like it shouldn't be because it violates one of our Bill of Rights, the 10th Amendment to be exact “the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the states Respectively, or to the people.” (10th Amendment in the Constitution) Therefore, it’s the individual rights of the states to decide if they want to use Common Core. But, I do feel like it's useless. I say this because it just adds more unnecessary stress on the students, it also works at a speed that might either be too slow or fast for you.

In 2009 the states decided that they wanted to share a learning system, they called this system Common Core. One of the first court cases that have occurred on this topic was David Adams vs Kentucky Education Officials. David Adams is a parent from Nicholasville, Kentucky. He filed a lawsuit for “declaratory and injunctive relief to Defendants acceptance of Common Core State Standards.” the Kentucky judge then, threw out the nation's first lawsuit against common core stating it wasn't a “unique, personal injury.” So this was an unsuccessful case. Another court case to occur on this topic was Bobby Jindal vs Department of Education. The Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal joined a lawsuit against the state's education officials saying that they violated the law when they implemented the federal Common Core standards. According to the case initiated by legislators, the state's education agencies failed to publicize the standards before putting them in place, denying parents and community members their right to review and comment on them. There has not been a set decision
