The price of an education has led many students to question the effectiveness of an expensive university, while community colleges offer similar or better classes at a lower cost; and in a sometimes greater variety of fields. Some students prefer what a university can offer, but what are the real expenses besides money? There are many benefits besides financial cost when attending a community college such as a more personal relationship between professors and students, benefits of living at home, better instructors and class flexibility. Yet there are students who prefer the excitement and life style of a university. A university’s instruction methods involve longer lecture times and the class sizes are much larger and streamlined with little room to help struggling students. Some professors in universities are also known to discuss subjects that are not even in the textbook. It always involves chaotic parties, fraternity groups and the pay for the dorm rooms are expensive.
