Bush vs Gore 2000 Election
The 2000 election must had been a crazy time, until any other, but of course I was too young to understand anything with politics back then. From what I gather, Bush vs Gore, had a close presidential race with an election that put the whole nation on a halt for weeks. It was one of the most interesting election in recent memories and still being discuss by many these days. by the looks of it, was pretty unnecessary, I mean, how could a thing like this ever happen? With much of the issues was in Florida, something had to be done, and the solution have many argue whether or not it was the right thing to do.
As the election was coming to an end and new networks were receiving the results for each state, there was much shocked that Gore got Florida. As a swing state, Florida for Gore was a big deal, it meant the presidency goes to him. But no sooner than it happens they had to correct it as Florida as undetermined and then to Bush. The poll data came out all wrong, with much it coming from Florida, because the infamous butterfly ballot cause confusion for many voters. To be fair, Gore did make the decision to concede, a choice he shouldn’t have made. It was still too early and everyone advise him not to do it. But it not just himself that costed him the election, the supreme court case on it felt suspicious to me. Secretary of State for the State of Florida, Katherine Harris took the case, since the recounting continue to be unclear, she gave Florida to Bush, making him the winner of the 2000 presidential election.
