The rivalry between Target and Walmart has been long standing since 1962. This fifty-five year ongoing competition is not surprising considering how similar these two discount stores are. Many departments of each retailer could be compared, but one particular section stands out among them all, clothing. For example, apparel is one of the top sellers in most stores and statistics from both Walmart and Target prove that. According to reports from the corporates of each store, clothing items and accessories account for nearly 20% of annual sales. This similarity is not the only way these two chain stores correspond either. Target is comparative to Walmart's selection of clothing in their price, reputation, and selection. First, the prices of both Walmart and Target clothes are rather similar.
