did not succeed. In the Aztec, Inca, and Mayan Empire they did succeed at making them into servants and forced labor. Another difference is that the Europeans forced the Incas and Aztecs to change their religion and become Catholic. They sent a lot of Franciscans to convert Indians to their new religion. On the other hand, The Mississippi Valley Tribes were not forced to change their beliefs.
The most notable of these was the burning arrow, but the Chinese eventually built grenades and landmines as well (Vassar College, Gunpowder). Realizing their advantage in warfare, the Chinese tried their best to keep the recipe to gunpowder a secret (Vassar College, Gunpowder). This, of course, was not successful, and civilizations across the world began to utilize gunpowder for themselves and it continues to be a relatively commonplace item to this
The Aztec along with the Inca and Maya were all huge civilizations. Making things like roads through the Andes. Or a very accurate calendar. The had some similarities. Such as, where they were.
Before these societies downfall they made major achievements which should be recognized. The Mayans created a calendar that was 365 days and they created glyphs which was a writing system
Compare and contrast between the Aztec, Mayan, and the inca. The Aztec and the mayan and the inca are all so unique in so many ways, either being the same or different. First there is going to be alot to read, so prepare to do that, and if you are not prepared to do that than that sucks for you. So to start this all of is to do the simple part, the similarities.
The Inca believed in afterlife they took good care of the dead bodies. They actually brought gifts to dead bodies so they could use them in the afterlife. They also believed heaven was divided into four quarters if people was good then they went to the part of heaven when the sun is out and if they lived a bad life then they went to the dark side of heaven. The mayans focus on two thing when they grow they make sure they have stable supply of food and that they have enough to trade.
The Maya, Aztec, and the Inca are all ancient tribes that settled in Mexico. The Maya had a lot of towns that were scattered in mesoamerica. Their main town/city was called Chichen Itza, it was in Panama. The Aztec also settled in mesoamerica, Their main town/city was in Nicaragua. Unlike the Maya, the Aztec did not have a lot of cities/towns.
In my opinion the Inca civilization is better than the Maya civilization and the Aztec civilization. Because of their advanced achievements. Also because of their connection to animals and the gods. The Inca were a very mysterious ancient civilization.
The Mayan, Aztecs, and the Inca were all ancient empires in South America. They are the same in many ways because of this. But they are also very different. People often only see how they are the same but not how they are different. There are actually more differences between them than there are similarities.
Looking at many aspects of the Mayans and Aztecs, such as their complex societies and educational systems, we can conclude that they were a civilized society. The Mayans had large thriving city states with complex social stratification. For example, the upper class consisted of kings, priest and nobles. The middle class included officers, professionals, officials, bureaucrats, merchants and artisans, whereas the lower class included the workers and servants (Shafer 2009).
In this class, I have learned a great deal about a wide variety of civilizations. These civilizations have ranged from the oldest known to the Gothic era and late Middle Ages. However, there were 5 things in particular that proved very interesting. The first three would be the Inca, the Aztec, and the Mayan civilizations. These 3 cultures had very interesting beliefs and some incredible architecture.
Three main weapons were used by legionaries. A pilum was similar to a javelin and it was used to be thrown at
The Mayan had a form of writing similar to the Egyptian Hieroglyphics called glyphs. They are also known for their infamous 365 day calendar which accurately mapped out days and dates all the way up to May of 2012. This is evident of the fact that they also studied astronomy seeing as the calendar is based off the Earth’s revolution around the sun. The Aztecs, as technologically lacking as they were, were able to perform rudimentary brain surgery. To put this in perspective, in this day and age, for someone to be able to do what they were able to requires upwards of 20 years of schooling, and that's with the technological advantage.
They made things such as pots, swords and guns out of steel, as they were more durable. People of other civilizations soon started to use these supplies, as they realized that they were more durable than the supplies they
The Mayans most famous cities are Chichen Itza, Tikal, and Palenque. The Incas build of Machu Picchu is also very popular for it’s amazing buildings. The Mayans lived from 2600 B.C to 1800 B.C. . The Maya dominated from 200 to 900 A.D .The Aztecs lived from the year 1428 to 1521.
