I consider myself to be an avid video game player. Over the years, I have had to make some tough choices about which system I was going to purchase, the Xbox from Microsoft or the PlayStation from Sony. It isn’t just me that has gone through decision making like this, in the 21st century the debate about which system to buy is frequently talked about in the gaming community. The television show South Park even made a 3-part episode story that poked fun at how big of a deal this debate is to some people, with half of the characters in the show preferring either the Xbox or the PlayStation. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox one are both black, and have special edition models with unique graphics. The PlayStation has a much sleeker look then it’s competitor the Xbox, which are physically larger and has a much sharper look to all of the edges. The feel of the controllers is crucial from me as well as many others. I prefer the Xbox controller to that of the PlayStation, it is a little larger but fits your hand very naturally and does not bother me after playing for long periods of time. While I don’t like the PlayStation controller, there are some neat things about it like the touchpad in the middle of it, and built-in speaker to enhance the gamer’s experience. There is a very technical side to these machines that I can only barely begin to dive into because quite frankly it is a bit over my head. The PlayStation 4 has a better graphics core that is more like a computers core, which means the PlayStation may look a little cleaner on the television but it is not a substantial difference that most people would ever notice. Both consoles have 8 gigabytes of RAM, and a 500-gigabyte hard drive. There is a lot more to the technical side of this debate but it is very in depth and dry. I mainly play first person shooters, which are games where you are looking through the eyes of your character and I don’t claim to be an above average player. With that being said when gaming on a PlayStation I am incredibly good. I have recorded 3 perfect games (25-0) and regularly place at the top of the leaderboards. While I love tooting my own horn there is a point and that is when I play Xbox, on which I have played thousands of games, never once have I had a prefect game. I will say that over the years the PlayStation online service has greatly improved, but Xbox live to me is still the superior online
