Until now America still has a two-party system which are the Republican and Democratic parties. Both parties must have their own supporters. Like the Republican Party that mostly supported by among white people and democrats tend to be supported by blacks. Democratic Party position itself is based on the principles of liberalism, while the Republican position itself to be conservative. Of course the party itself must have certain roles and functions within the political system of the United States.
I personally feel I am more of a Democrat than a Republican. American Politics The two major political parties of the United States are the Democrats and the Republicans. There are also third parties such as the Constitution party, the Green party, the Independent party, and the Libertarian party. The Democratic and the Republican Party constantly compete with each other trying to promote their political ideals and searching the means for maintaining their continuous political leadership.
Democrats and Republicans: All for One The United States (U.S) democratic ideology is attributed in factor to the formation of two political parties, so that checks and balances are maintained within politics. The Democratic Party, the older of the two parties is based on the philosophy of the government protecting and guiding the citizens. The Democrats believe in individual rights of the citizens and that American citizens should have the right to liberty, privacy, justice, equal opportunity and other things with the aid of the “big government” dogma. On the other hand, the Republican Party is based on decentralized government and restricted powers.
Republicans and Democrats think differently when it comes to forming a U.S. economic policy. On average, Republicans make tax cuts their highest priority, since they prefer the idea that reducing the role of the government in the economy will stimulate economic growth and promote investment. They also adopted the idea of supply-side economics and prefer regressive taxes, or a flat tax rate, that taxes all income at the same percentage regardless of earnings. Thus, Republicans justify that the policy encourages individuals to become creative investors and productive workers. Democrats on the other hand, favor higher levels of public spending, since they need taxes to fund government programs.
This upcoming election will pose an especially interesting aspect with respect to environmental science and sustainability. The two main political parties have their party platform statements that include their own viewpoints on some of these issues we face. The scientific fact behind global warming has been supported over time, and we see as a basis, the Democratic Party tends to accept the science behind climate change and embedded these ideas into their Party’s platform. While the Republican Party might not as a whole, reject climate change; however, the Republican Party tends to question or just reject the science behind climate change.

The Democrats and the Republicans have several differences and similarities.
Both the Democrats and the Republicans like to think of themselves as the true heirs of Thomas Jefferson. The modern Democrats are historically descended from the Democratic-Republican Party that Jefferson himself organized to thwart the ambitions of Alexander Hamilton (although, ironically, they were known as "Republicans" in Jefferson 's time). Democrats around the country annually celebrate Jefferson-Jackson Dinners, avowedly declaring a connection between Jefferson and the modern Democratic Party. But Republicans claim that their platform of small government and low taxes is more in line with true Jeffersonian philosophy than that of the big-government Democrats.
Political Differences in Policy between the Two Parties Within the Political world, there are many differences in opinion that split the nation into two major parties. These political parties, the republicans and democrats, find different solutions to the problems that the United States faces in today’s world. Two of the these policies that split the parties are climate change and fiscal policy. Both issues are very important to the country, but their are stark contrasts in policy when it comes to the two parties.
First political debate is on Immigration, were in my opinion the democratic side is better than the republicans side. Our country is based on immigration. America started with immigrants moving to the new world and starting a new colonie. Democrats believe we should accept immigrants as they are part of our culture. Republicans believe we should not have immigrants that we should only have people that are born in america.
Although the Republican and Democratic parties share some similarities, there are far more differences between the two, because Republicans believe in individual rights, one flat tax, and are against pardoning illegal immigrants. Democrats believe in community and social responsibility, progressive taxes, and are supportive of illegal immigrants gaining citizenship easily. Almost half of all registered voters identify as Democrats or lean Democratic compared with only 44% who identify as Republicans or lean Conservative. The Democratic Party began around the time of America’s independence from British rule. The Republican party is younger than the Democratic party.
Republicans and Democrats are considered the two major political parties in the U.S, but the next most widely know political party is the Libertarian party, which is a part of the third party system. The republican party was established in 1854, and it is commonly referred to as the GOP (the grand old party). The official symbol for the Republican party is an elephant. Their party has several core beliefs that they stand by. The first principle, which was stated by republicanviews.org, says that the government’s role is to enable the people to secure the benefits of society for themselves, their families, and for those who are unable to do so for themselves.
Many people are not into politics, so they are unsure what the differences are between the Democrats and the Republicans. Both parties though, dominate America’s political landscape, but are exceedingly different from each other. Democrats are people who believe in the political or social equality of all people; Republicans are people who favor a republican form of government. To start, most Democrats are highly liberal, or left-leaning, and are based on community and social responsibility.
Abortion became legal in America in 1973 due to a Supreme Court case Roe vs Wade and has continued to be a popular issue (“Roe v. Wade”). Abortion is a topic that many people have different views on and feel strongly about. It’s also a very heated topic within the government parties, with the disagreement of each one’s views. Democrats believe that women have the right to decide what they want to do with their body. They also believe that a fetus is not a human life, therefore, they have no individual rights.
The pro-choice/pro-life is a major argument in politics in the United States today. However it is not so simple as pro-choice and pro-life. Pro-choice has been coined to mean that women should have the right to choose abortion and it should be a legal option. Pro-life has been connected with the banning of abortion and looking at a fetus as a life so abortion is basically murder. However this pro-life view has gotten very convoluted.
The two sides of the debate are pro-life and pro-choice. Pro-life is the people who do not like the idea of abortion. They claim that life begins at conception and that abortion is murder. They also say that the fetus can feel pain during the abortion and that it is unfair to families that cannot conceive on their own that are waiting to adopt
