The movie version of Romeo and Juliet contains many Catholic representations. As to why the director may have done this, we can assume from the play itself. Romeo and Juliet, the play, contains many different Catholic representations. From the constant mention of God, to one of the most important characters being a Friar. When reading we don’t fully understand how much something affected a character’s life. Just by reading words one can’t come to fully understand how deeply something is integrated into the characters lives. The constant representation through imagery in the movie helps us to better understand its effect. In the case of Romeo and Juliet’s love, they are inseparable and always follow their faith to each other and for guidance.
