Some of the main characters in the book are Katniss Everdeen, and Peeta Mellark. Katniss Everdeen was the one of the winners and the main character of all the books, she’s known as “the girl on fire”(Collins). And peeta mellark is Katniss's best friend in the games and somewhat boyfriend. The other other book shows Katniss fights back and tries to not go in the Hunger games. The Hunger games is about this girl named Katniss and the boy who gave her bread get picked to go into the Hunger games. The Hunger games is where 2 kids from every district get picked to go and fight for their lives.

The US government is slightly different from Panem’s government, but has similar qualities. After reading the Hunger Games book and watching the movie in my english class I was astounded by how different but not to different the movie was to the book.
