Softball and Baseball

My essay will be about Comparing and Contrasting softball and baseball. I will have about 2-4 paragraphs Comparing and Contrasting both softball and baseball. I will have facts about softball and baseball and opinions about both. Softball and baseball are the same sport, but they don’t have the same rules or even equipment. After my essay you will have a whole different perspective about both the two sports.

First, I will talk about some facts about softball. Softball was invented by George Hancock in Chicago, 1887. Even though in the name it says Softball, the balls aren’t very soft at all. An official softball weighs around 6.8 oz. In softball the bats are about 34 inches in length. In softball you are not aloud to lead off till the ball is out of the pitcher’s hand. The bases are about 60 feet apart from each other. Softball was the first sport to ever be dropped in over 69 years. The ball size of a softball is about and around 12 inches. Doubleday then went on to become a Civil War hero, while baseball became America's beloved national pastime. Baseballs are much softer than softballs.
