Comparing Disney's Interpretation Of Moana And The Real Myth

There are a lot of similarities and differences between Disney’s interpretation of Maui, in the movie Moana, and the real myth. Some of them are small, and others are more noticeable. Disney took some important characteristics and either changed them, or added their own twist to them. In the next few paragraphs, I will briefly discuss some of the changes that were made to Maui’s characteristics. First, a difference that was made is that the movie made Maui seem like a villain. In the movie, it was depicted the demigod Maui stole the heart of the Te Fiti the goddess. Maui put a curse on Moana’s island which caused her to retaliate and try to save her people.
