Henry Ford was born July 30, 1863 in Michigan. Henry grew up working on a farm for his mom and dad. Henry’s mom passed away in 1867. His career as an engineer took off whenever he left to be an apprentice as a machinist in Detroit. In 1882 he went back to work on the farm with his dad, where he gained experience working with steam engines. Henry’s career began to advance whenever he became an engineer for the Edison Illuminating company in 1891. From here he began to run personal experiments on gasoline engines in his spare time. In 1896 he built his first working vehicle, and named it the Ford Quadricycle. In 1903, Henry and others made the Ford Motor Company.
