Shakespeare Essay Some people think that teaching Romeo and Juliet in the ninth grade is too hard or deep. Some people think that Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in the ninth grade to learn life lessons. My view on teaching Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in the 9th grade because it is a good coming of age story and helps learn about life. One reason I think that Romeo and Juliet is good to teach in ninth grade is because it helps young students to learn about life such as love, and how it can destroy or help someone in love. It is also relevant to teenage boys and girls that are going through problems in the 9th grade.
In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet,Romeo and Juliet were two very similar people by the way they acted to even the way their families acted. They both get treated the same way by their parents, they both were not honest, and even their families acted the same way. Both, Romeo and Juliet got treated the same way by their parents. Juliet’s dad, Lord Capulet was going to let Juliet have some say in who she married. He became very hard on her and gave her no choice but to marry Paris once he found out about Rome.
Shakespeare wrote Romeo and Juliet in year 1595. Disney made the animated film, Gnomeo and Juliet, in 2011. Gnomeo & Juliet is a computer-animated, comedic recreation of Shakespeares masterpiece. In the story of “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare, is about a feud between two families and how their war and hate for one another drove two young teens to kill themselves and two high family officials got murdered. In Love Story, a song written by Taylor Swift is about the play “Romeo and Juliet” but she puts her own spin on it. Her song is about Romeo and Juliet falling in love and Juliet’s point of view on things. And in the end Romeo and Juliet get there happy ending. Both the book, “Romeo and Juliet” and the song “Love Story” have very similar plot lines.

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes in the leading roles. The film is a shorter form of Shakespeare's play. While it still has the original Shakespearean dialogue, the Montagues and the Capulets are represented as warring mafia empires and swords are replaced with guns.
Love and hate can make people go to extreme lengths for their own reasons. Even though hate sounds strong, it’s actually fragile compared to love. The two of them fall in love at a party where Romeo was out looking for the original girl he was in love with, Rosaline, and Juliet was there to meet her future husband Paris. With love playing a huge part in this play, it's concluded that Romeo and Juliet are both a Eros kind of lover.
William Shakespeare’s Novel “Romeo and Juliet” is the story about two lovers brought together by fate, but die tragically out of love for eachother. In the story, Romeo is depicted and bashful yet eager to fight those who hurt the ones he loves. For example, in act three scene one, Romeo and Tybalt, an enemy to him and a cousin to Juliet, duel to the death after Tybalt killed Mercutio; Romeo’s friend. While in the book, the duel is not portrayed, I tried to draw it out the way I think it went.
Dylan When a movie has an ending different from its source it can be annoying. In Romeo and Juliet the play ties up the story phenomenally, at least compared to the movie. The movie messes up the ending so bad it’s hard to tell that it’s ending. The characters are introduced differently and there's no rhyme or reason to why it’s changed in the first place. The play Romeo and Juliet is better than the movie because it was shortened, changed who died, and mess up the ending.
Thirdly, in the way Romeo and Juliet spoke to each other and described each other throughout the play, displayed how meaningful and true their love was. In Act 2, Scene 2, Romeo calls Juliet a bright angel, dear saint and he describes her as being such a beauty. Throughout that scene, Romeo and Juliet talk to each other until the morning, with Juliet being on a balcony and Romeo in a tree. While they talk, they talk with such sympathy, romance and passion for one another by comparing each other to such beauties and Romeo willing to change his name so that it may not be a sin to Juliet’s family. In act 3, Scene 2, Juliet has a soliloquy about how she wants to be with Romeo and spend a night with him.

These alterations consist of adaptations for children, social context, symbolism and metaphors and the character’s costumes, which allows the film to develop further.
The Reality of Romeo Romeo a kind, noble sir. Romeo is a character that is more realistic to today's audience. Romeo shows heroism and compassion all through the play. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, is supposed to be a tragedy it shows how love was won, but by hurt and sadness that was done. Romeo shows his love for Juliet in many special and heroic ways throughout the story.

The play is taught in many schools and it is often coupled with a movie adaption of the play. There have been many movie adaptations of Romeo and Juliet done and yet there are only a few out of the five I have watched that I would recommend. The top one that I would recommend is the 1968 version, directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
