When discussing the topic of good will, it’s necessary to talk about whether or not the result is for good or bad. For anyone to perform an act of good will, even if it’s result doesn’t bring out a helpful effect; it shows the inner moral of a person. For anyone to help a person in need shows the characteristics of that person no matter what has happened in the past. This is shown in the movie Even in the Rain and in Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals by Immanuel Kant. Morals are set from childhood into teenage years. Depending on how a person was raised builds them up as a person. If someone was brought up in a nice family with all needs and wants covered; they will have different morals, then that of one raised in a poor country with nothing. At the beginning of the movie the directors are portray as money hungry people. They choose to film in Bolivia because of the cheap cost and are taking advantage of the power they have. For example, they told everyone would get a chance to audience, but after they had pick the crew members, they told everyone to leave. Later on, Daniel’s wife Teresa begs Costa to help find Belen who had been missing since the protest in Bolivia started. At the time Bolivia had been having a water crisis because of the privatization of water wells. It was becoming a problem for the local people to afford water. Even though, Costas boss Sebastian doesn’t want Costa to help, he does it anyway. Costa took a risk of going against Sebastian and it showed Costas true moral belief. Despite having the outcome not come out as expected, finding Belen seriously injured, Costa still did the right thing.
