If you are planning curriculum for physical education then you need to focus on the national standards and the grade level expectations that are set in place for Missouri. Missouri provides Grade Level Expectations for each subject matter. Based upon the Grade Level Expectations and National Standards provided you can create a curriculum map that will guide you through the semester helping you outline the different areas needed to cover in the curriculum. There are many parts to curriculum. There are general larger ideas of a liberal education and then there are more specific technical knowledge and skills. It is important to incorporate both these ideas when creating curriculum for the specific subject matter.
