Direct patrol is a form of patrol, which concentrates on placing police in areas where specific crimes are a notable problem. On the other hand proactive policing is a method that depends on police arrest, opposed to arrest that are made once someone calls for police assistance. With direct patrol hot spots and hot times are key words to when and where significant criminal activity occurs. Direct patrol focuses on specific locations, at specific times in which certain problems occur. Proactive policing is more concerned with focusing on particular criminals and types of crime. Common strategies for proactive policing is keeping tabs on high-risk repeat offenders, as well as prioritizing arrest based on the type of offender. In my opinion I
