COMPARE AND CONTRAST ESSAY: STUDY IN ARGENTINA OR ENGLAND?

Argentina has one of the most advanced levels of education in Latin America, whereas England has one of the finest in the world. If a person has the possibility to study in any of these countries, he or she has to know how the school year, elementary school and high education function in both places. For this reason, this essay will describe the sharing and contrasting aspects of these education systems.
One of the most outstanding factors to analyse is the school year. In both countries Argentina and England, the school year is compulsory. In Argentina, it is from 4 to 18 years old and it runs from March to December. In addition, students have classes from 8 am to 1 mp from Monday to Friday with morning breaks; while in England, the school year is compulsory from 5 to 16 years old and it runs from September to July as well as students go to school from 9 am to 3:30 pm from Monday to Friday with morning and lunch breaks. …show more content…

The secondary school in Argentina and England is divided in two parts. In Argentina, the first part is from 1st, 2nd and 3rd year that is called lower secondary education and the second part is from 4th to 5th year that is called upper secondary education. However; in England, the first part of secondary school is from 11 to 14 years old that is called key stage 3 and the second one is from 14 to 16 years old called key stage 4. What is more, argentine children start secondary school at the age of 13 and when they finish it, they have to take admission exams for tertiary education and university. Different from Argentina, English children go to secondary school at the age of 11 and they assist to large comprehensive schools where different abilities are taught.
