My experience with technology in the U.S is different than the technology in Germany. An example of how it is different is in, the U.S. they have more software jobs such as Microsoft, Google, etc. Another example is the U.S. has different variations in Universities. However, Germany has higher expectations of computer science. The U.S. does code.org at my school and in Germany they do not do that. Also our grading systems are different than each others. In the U.S. the grading system is 90-100 is an A, an 80-89 is a B, 70-79 is a C, and a F is 60 or below. In Germany their grading system is a 1.00-1.50 is an A, a B is 2.51-3.50, a C is 3.51-4.00 and finally an F is 4.01-6.00. At my school we have iPads and computers, we use them for coding and learning about the internet. “The phones we use in the U.S. can not be used in Germany”. The only phone company that can be used in Germany is the GSM mobile phone system. Germany uses the same methods the U.S. uses in technology but we learn the subject differently than Germany uses the concept/subject. In Germany, after you graduate with a computer science degree there are a decent amount of software jobs you can apply for. In the U.S there are also a decent amount of software jobs that use computer science such as Microsoft, Google, etc. Computer science in Germany has been taught at some secondary schools since the early 1970’s.
