In the book Godless by Pete Hautman about teens creating their own religion about having differnt inviduals causing problems throughout the storyline. The main character is Jason Bock a 16 year old boy a bit on the husky side in body weight and has a negaitive attuide on himself and other speific things.The story takes place in ST. Andrew Valley a small very hot and uneventful town where everyone knows everyone. A conflict in the story is when Jason hurts the feelings of his senstive bestfriend Shin who starts to cry over something that seems small to Jason but major to Shin. In the beginning of the book Jason gets punch by the town douche (at the time) Herny Stagg , Jaon is with his bestfriend at the water tower for the town and then comes Herny Stagg and his three idoits friends and they tawnt Jason and Shin till Henery puches Jason and Jason doesnt respond back and just walks away. Jason gets frustrated with the town religion getting shoved down his down and finally snaps at church and says he isnt calthic and the he worships another god the "ten legged one" which the town water tower.When jason descibes himself he uses negaitive words and in way he decribes himslfe as nasty. Dan Grant the town preachers son joins the made up religion even though he questions it many many times. The girl the Jason has a crush on Magda Price joins the new religion group but not before pouring a slushee down Jasons pants causing a sticky situtation. Henery Stagg joins the new religion and gets a little close with Jason. Jason tells his best friend Shin abut Hnery being a new memeber and says he climbed the watr tower with him and Shin starts to cry from this because Jason ha did thst with Henery and not …show more content…

Everyone seems to be a little negaitive towards Jason and everyone does things together without Jason.everyone seems pretty negaitive at this point of the

One such conflict—a multifaceted struggle that ultimately becomes one of the most prominent in the novel—concerns his religious beliefs. Antonio’s mother is a devout Catholic and raises her children to be followers of the religion as well, but Antonio struggles with the concept of the all-powerful God and the fact that such a God would punish good people while forgiving those whom Antonio deemed “evil,” and at one point thinks that perhaps God does not help him because He is “too busy in heaven to worry or care about” Antonio and his friends and family (187).
