In the eyes of many students, school uniforms are dull, unvaried and impede on their personal choices; in the eyes of the administration, school uniforms can be seen as a godsend. The argument concerning the students’ and the school’s views on school uniforms has been a controversial problem for a while due to the heavily clashing opinions of adults and children. In the beginning, school uniforms were used as a way of “schooling” minorities in the United States. Such examples of the minorities are women, Native Americans, African Americans, etc. It was believed to “train” their bodies that were believed to not be as aesthetically dispositioned. In early twentieth-century Argentina, the color of white smocks became a symbol of the “homogenous” environment in schools. While it may not seem like it, school uniforms across the nation help more than they create problems from students. The controversy of school uniforms may not exactly be solved anytime soon, since people will always be on different sides of the argument. However, it is to the better judgement of schools that school uniforms should be worn by students during academic hours. At home, kids can choose to wear whatever they like and whatever they are comfortable in. Compared to weekends that have no dress restriction and coming home to wearing whatever the child desires, wearing school uniforms for 7-8 hours at school does not sound incredibly difficult. Whether or not students or parents like it, schools uniforms can definitely act as a plus to improving school districts and helping regulate the safety of
