1. IOM: Nurses should be leaders and partners with physicians and health care professionals. Nurses work first hand with most of the material that is wasted in the health care setting, they would be able to identify needed changes, and be able to track progress much easier and effectively than other health care providers. 2. Heller:
I have taken classes with you before, so I had no problem understanding the syllabus. It is surely not an easy course. I can see, there is lots of reading and time commitment is required to understand the material. Instructions are clear, as you have posted everything on the first page, there is no way to miss something. The best part of the reading is it is written in simple word but in a very interesting.
I am in the process of completing the Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in finance with an expected graduation in 2019. I’m writing this letter to express my interest in the Haskayne Coop program. I am particularly interested in the program because I am eager to expand on my academic and extracurricular experiences to discover the value I can bring to employers. Overall, my experiences have facilitated the advancement of interpersonal skills, analytical ability and most importantly, they have enabled me to acquire a strong sense of initiative. Being comfortable with working with people is an essential skill, applicable to any field.
The time spent at Western Governors University (WGU) has been a great opportunity to learn about myself, my goals, and understand the factors that influence my career choice and my success. When I began at WGU four years ago, I did not have any experience in human resource management beyond recruiting, hiring and training for the restaurant industry. In the beginning, I was uncomfortable with the limited knowledge. Yet, as time progressed, my confidence, knowledge and skills increased with each course.
Chris McCandless, a very questionable man with questionable motives, were they reasonable or just plain idiotic? Before we go into those questionable areas, let’s ask ourselves; what drives our determination, what fuels our motivation, and why are we going to accomplish our desires? All these answers are found in one simple question; one that man-kind seems to never realize the answer to, “what is the meaning of life?” We fail to see that, we are the very living definition of it, it’s within ourselves that we give life any meaning at all, and to understand why we give it such meaning. McCandless knew this, the life that he was living, was never his, so he decided to search for his meaning and live his own life as his.
In summary, I am excited about what this semester will bring. Especially what it will bring in human services methods. I hope each class I find a little bit of courage to be more involved and give my opinion.
One of the topics I had the opportunity to be informed about was Medicare and its growth. Another interesting topic that was focused on during the conference was advocacy. During this presentation, I was able to learn about what advocacy really is and is it better to advocate for someone or something on paper or verbally?
I noticed that after I finished my time monitoring sheet that, there is absolutely no reason for me not to complete my studies at GCU. I’m always available because I don’t have a job or children to take care of my only responsibility are my dogs. So now that I start school my biggest priority will be to do my school work and turn it in on time. But I did notice that I waste a lot of time doing nothing but, I guess that’s good in a way because now I can replace the time slots that I’m doing nothing, with studying so I can make better grades.
The Process of Reflection The process of reflection is central to clinical supervision. Launer (2003) describes external and internal factors in supervision whereby clinical practice and sharing skills are external and reflection is an ‘internal conversation.’ Brunero & Stein-Parbury (2008) discussed the effects of clinical supervision in nursing staff and argued that self-reflection generates a sense of self-awareness and knowledge to the individual. Supervisees or students may be asked what happened during a clinical event, how they felt, the implications of their actions and what they would do differently if faced with the same situation.
Throughout the class, I have learned that my writing has grown greatly and what undercover talents I think I have within writing skills. In classes previously to Composition One, I have gotten very good grades on papers and the classes came very easily to me. Although, Composition One has showed me that I’m not a perfect writer and I still have many things to work on to get to the level that I would like to be at. One goal that Composition One helped me learn was how to demonstrate effective writing as a recursive process.
I honestly did not know what to expect, I heard it would be the hardest thing I have ever done and I definitely believe that to be true. I have definitely felt defeated on multiple occasions and for the first time in my life actually cried about school. I am so thankful to have such great professors to encourage me when I did not do well on exams, give me feedback on study habits, and truly care about my future at Denver School of Nursing and as a nurse. My classmates for the most part are exceptional. They have been so positive, helpful, and I feel like we all learn from each other.
Introduction As we approach graduation many BScN students are prepping their resumes and settling into the mindset of “I’ll apply to anything, just hire me!” We thought it was important to ensure that our future graduate think ahead to all the many different nursing careers that are out there, what role they think they would be happiest in, what training might be needed for that role and how to be successful in the interview. This reflection will examine my experience working as a group to complete a facilitation in the Nursing 4Q03 class. Facilitation Experience (planning, conducting, evaluating)
The thing I did best today, was, communicating with my patient, and doing his physical assessment. My clinical rotation this quarter for Galen College of Nursing ,is at the VA medical center, in Louisville Ky. The VA medical center is a govt hospital for the veterans.
As I reflect on the past 15 months of attending CCU. I recall the excitement, and the overwhelming stress of having to work full time and attend online college. I was not sure that I could complete my degree at fifty years old. Because of being out of school for over 30 years. I was somewhat reluctant to give it a try.
