As Americans, we usually overlook the freedom and rights that we are given. Many people, if not all, go out to live their life and make choices without a second thought about the price of their so-called freedom. When America was first founded, we lived off of the five ideals that has been set up; equality, rights, liberty, democracy, and opportunity. Given the videos shared on social media sites and stories written and published by many newspaper articles, many people would agree that we have not lived up to these finding ideals. Liberty is given to us when we are born. However, we lose the right to these liberties once we do something that puts others in harms way. Even so, many people of color get their liberties and rights taken away from them when they just look as if they are causing trouble. In this economic state that we live in, how can it be possible for someone who lives or has lived in poverty be able to achieve their goals in life? Many parents these days struggle with their incomes to provide for their children. Some may even have more than one job to keep up with their rent and to get food on the table. Therefore, these children don’t have as many opportunities as a child with a wealthy family would. In many ways than one, we are not equal. There are myriads of people who are being bullied or oppressed simply because of their skin tone, their ethnicity, and their beliefs. There is a huge difference between the equality of a male and a female, financially and socially. To make it even worse, the difference between a white male and a black female is greater.The mere reason feminism exists is because women want to be treated and be paid the same amount as men. Until there is equal pay between a male and female, white or black, there is truly no equality amongst
