Freedom grows and changes, as people grow and change. When I was younger I didn’t have many freedoms, I listened to my parents because I didn’t know there were any other ways to live. As I grew up I realized I could form my own opinions and argue for things I believed in. When I finally found my voice I understood how important it was to use it, and on January 21st I went to the Women's March that took place in Los Angeles. Standing up for what I believe in has turned me into the person I am today. Living in America, I am allowed to speak my mind without suffering major consequences, though the United States wasn’t always like this and we still aren't fully free. Which is strange in a land known for freedom. History has caused the meaning of freedom to take many forms, it’s only in recent decades that there was even equal rights to people of color, and it was in this decade that freedom to marry anyone was finally approved. There is not one simple answer because there will never be one definition. Over time, everyone's ideas of liberty will grow and develop with their nations and the people around them. The past was a time of limited freedoms not many people were actually capable of living their life the way they wanted. This lead to more people raising their voices and many were heard. In the present, freedom is a more accessible thing, yet there are many aspects of rights that are hidden from everyone's view. Because laws that are unspoken, are impeding people's rights, not as many of them are working on expanding their liberties, especially since many people don’t understand that they are even being held back. Yet, speaking up is what everyone should be doing, that way the future can be better than the past and now. Hopefully, the future holds the freedom of speech, expression, religion, and much more. In the end, freedom shouldn’t be overlooked, no matter who you are, or what you do for a living, everyone's life
